The University of Reading Scholarships is pleased to provide Ph.D. scholarships in meteorology to both domestic and foreign applicants. Applications are now being accepted for the academic year 2023–2024.

Only international and domestic self-funding applicants pursuing a Ph.D. in Atmosphere, Oceans, and Climate or a Ph.D. in Space Weather and Solar-Terrestrial Physics at the Department of Meteorology are eligible for the University of Reading Scholarships. The winners will get an annual award of up to £3,000.

    About

In Reading, Berkshire, there is a public institution called the University of Reading. As an extension college of the University of Oxford, it was founded in 1892 as University College, Reading. The college was given the right to confer its degrees by royal charter from King George V in 1926, making it the only university to do so between the two World Wars. Because it was founded in the 19th century, the university is frequently referred to as a red-brick university.

There are four primary campuses for Reading University. While Greenlands is situated in Buckinghamshire on the banks of the Thames, the campuses on London Road and Whiteknights are both in Reading.

It also has a campus in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia. The organization has been split up into 16 academic schools as of 2016. The organization earned £275.3 million in revenue in 2016–17, of which £35.4 million came from research grants and contracts, and spent £297.5 million.

According to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, Reading was placed 28th for its Research Power and 35th in the UK among multi-faculty universities for the quality (GPA) of its research. In total, the university’s research is classified as “internationally recognized,” “internationally excellent,” and “world-leading” in 27% of the cases.
