Kathy Lien earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business and began her work on Wall Street at the age of 18, focusing on currencies.
She began her career at JPMorgan Chase, where she worked on the interbank foreign currency (FX) trading desk, making markets.
She went on to work for JPMorgan’s cross-markets proprietary trading business, where she traded foreign exchange spot, options, interest rate derivatives, bonds, stocks, and futures.
Kathy launched DailyFX.com, a renowned online foreign-exchange research portal, in 2003 after joining FXCM.
Kathy led a team of experts who provided analysis and commentary on the foreign exchange market as chief strategist.
Kathy joined Global Futures & Forex Ltd as director of currency research in 2008, where she oversaw a global foreign-exchange analysis team and offered research and analysis to clients.
Kathy is currently the managing director of foreign exchange strategy at BK Asset Management in New York City.
