Babes Wodumo was born in Lamontville, Chatsworth, South Africa on July 26, 1994. Her real name is Bongekile Simelane and her nationality is South African.
Talking about her family background her father is a bishop whose name is Welcome Simelane. For now, her mother’s name is not yet known. Babes has a sister named Nonduh Simelane.

In 2014, Babes Wodumo released “Desha,” her debut single, which was produced by Sir Bubzin. Her breakout hit track “Wololo,” which featured Mampintsha, was released in December 2015 in South Africa after she signed a record deal with West Ink.
