Sydney Talker biography

You cannot talk about comedy today in Nigeria without mentionind the likes of Sydney talker. Sydney is one of Nigeria’s sensational comedian and dancer. In this biography post we are going to be looking at who Sydney is.

Early Life

Sydney Egere popularly known as Sydney Talker was born and brought up on the 12th of October 1995 in Lagos State. Despite the fact he was born in Lagos State, Sydney takes his root from Edo state. He was raised by a single mother who got divorced by her husband when Sydney was still very young.


Sydney completed his primary and secondary education in Lagos State. He gained admission into the University of Benin (UNIBEN) to study Computer Science. Sydney is still currently on undergraduate in the University of Benin. According to one of his recent interview he said that he chose to study Computer Science because he thought he was going to learn Cinematography. But he said he isn’t getting that at the moment.

Sydney talker is currently single.

Career in Comedy

Sydney’s passion for comedy grew strong as he couldn’t wait to finish school. Sydney had started making comedy skit right in school but went un-noticed. But that did not stop him from pursuing his dreams. He posted his first comedy skit “Power of tongue” in the year 2015.

With patience, perseverance and persistence Sydney finally got his breakthrough and eventually came to limelight with one of his comedy skit in 2016 “The Poor Power Supply” which went viral with more than 10,000 views.

Sydney has earned the nickname the “Mr Bean of Nigeria” Sydney also talked about the funny face he puts on when acting his skits “


Sydney has an estimated networth of $100,000 this is put together with his dancing and hosting of events (MC).


Sydney has been bashed severally for promoting sexual content as is seen in some of his videos. Recently this year (2020) a video went viral of the comedian contracting the deadly covid-19 virus and was being rejected by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) officials when he went for treatment. However this video was confirmed to be false. Sydney was however tested and his results proved negative.
