Job Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end product life cycle management from information gathering to  reporting on effectiveness through analysis & financial management
  • Collect quantitative product data and metrics through market research
  • Synthesize customer research
  • Gather product requirements and align them with business goals
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to achieve the product vision
  • Develop new product features
  • Working on developing product strategies
  • Actively mitigate impediments impacting the completion of release/sprint goals
  • Efficiently translate business strategies into technical capabilities and product roadmaps
  • Ensure that projects meet the needs of intended clients through efficient market research and regional input
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Systems engineering team, program associates to share required product properties
  • Create viable product design documents and clear product requirements for internal team.
  • Continuously iterate with relevant stakeholders to manage competing priorities and guide decision making in line organizational goals.
  • Continuously make iterative decisions based on customer and business needs
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Systems Engineering team to negotiate on the technical implementation options and
  • Clearly communicate key product changes and updates with relevant stakeholders appropriate avenues such as trainings, webinars emails, etc to create awareness about products
  • Exercise knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) to enhance product features and internal processes
  • Establish and review test plans; lead UAT to ensure team capability requirements and deadlines are met
  • Conduct feedback sessions with Enterprise Systems Engineering teams to continuously iterate and improve team processes and performance
  • Utilize and stay current with modern platforms and methods
  • Perform other responsibilities and tasks required to support organizational goals and objectives

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Product Management, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience as a Product Owner or in a Product Management role
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience of modern technology stack
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data to derive business insights
  • Demonstrated experience with workflow management systems; experience with Atlassian tools (Jira Core, Jira Software, Jira Service Desk)
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize projects and manage multiple dynamic priorities.

Job Description & Overview

Our client is a fast growing technologically inclined, agricultural food production company with operations across Nigeria. They currently looking for a Chief Operating Officer in Lagos.

The ideal candidate for this role should have over 10 years of progressively responsible sales and operations management experience in a fast growing organization preferably in an emerging market and /or agribusiness. Should have proven track record of delivering forward thinking services within a technology-oriented business that works with rural /low-income communities. The selected individual is expected to lead our core operations teams of Corporate Sales, Community Sales, Farmer Out-Grower Network Operations, Logistics /Supply & Distribution Operations. S/he will own the strategic plan for increasing our top-line revenue while efficiently managing operational resources. The individual will also drive the responsibility for the company’s sales strategy, managing budgets and lead execution of a strategic roadmap to significantly grow the core business metrics. As a member of the senior leadership team, the CSO /COO will also be responsible for implementing and tracking effective KPIs for our large operations team. S/he will partner with senior level personnel within the team to drive innovation and the continuous improvement of people and processes within the organization.

Job Responsibilities


  • As a member of the senior management team, make key contributions to the formulation of the company’s short and long-term sales and marketing strategies to drive business growth.
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, managing all the sales activities of BG including setting revenue and activity targets for team members, existing customer /farmer member retention, new customer /farmer member acquisition, and product pricing.
  • Report sales performance against budget and any variances.
  • Manage and optimize the product portfolio to target different customer segments.


  • Identify, design and implement customer-centric process improvements within the business
  • Lead efforts in recruiting, managing and retaining our small-holder farmers
  • Ensure critical inputs (seeds, fertilizers etc) are distributed to our farmer members on-time, conveniently and cost-effectively.
  • Deeply understand customer needs and adjust service delivery model to efficiently serve our farmer members
  • Pilot, measure and iterate on new acquisition and expansion models to allow the business reach its ambitious scale targets of 1 million farmers by 2025
  • Optimize our logistics, warehousing and storage and distribution models to reduce transportation costs, handling costs and minimize inventory loss.
  • Leverage technology and introduce new and innovation solutions to improve our business operations across the life cycle.

  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to navigate a diverse range of stakeholders including senior executive teams, corporate boards, young professionals as well as bottom of the pyramid customers.
